CEDAR FALLS, Iowa—Ellen Ouellette has joined Vernon Research Group (VRG) as a qualitative research analyst, bringing expertise in human-centered research, interviewing and evidence-based decision-making to clients across a variety of industries.
In her role, Ouellette designs and conducts qualitative studies such as in-depth interviews and focus groups, helping organizations uncover deeper insights into the experiences, motivations and perceptions of the people they serve.
“I'm excited by the opportunity to work more directly with stakeholders and help research findings translate into meaningful action,” said Ouellette. “The most rewarding part of this work is creating insights that organizations can use to improve services, solve problems and ultimately have a positive impact on people's lives.”

Ouellette earned a Bachelor of Science in physics from Brown University and a doctorate in physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where her research focused on students' experiences with collaborative learning in higher education. Her work integrated interviews, observations and survey data to generate actionable insights and support evidence-based decision-making.
“Ellen brings an uncommon combination of analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity and empathy to qualitative research,” said VRG Managing Director Robin Frost. “Her ability to build trust, ask the right questions, identify meaningful themes and tell compelling stories from research findings will create tremendous value for our clients.”
